3. Paul Greyrat (Mushoku Tensei)
Kicking off our top three, we have to talk about Paul. He is far from a saint; in fact, he makes some terrible mistakes as a husband and father early on. He is impulsive, immature, and messes up his marriage in the worst way possible. However, his growth is one of the most honest, raw, and three-dimensional portrayals of fatherhood in anime. After the teleportation disaster, Paul hits rock bottom but pulls himself together to spend years desperately searching for his family. His reunion with Rudeus shows a deeply vulnerable father, fully aware of his flaws. And his ultimate sacrifice to save his son from the Hydra broke all of our hearts, cementing him as one of the most realistic dads in anime.
